“My purchase decision – The LN55C650 is one outstanding TV. I shopped for weeks online and at the local electronics stores before I landed on this model. I saw this model side by side among other brands in the local stores and carefully studied the differences in brands and picture quality. I made my purchase through Amazon based on price, features and value with the inclusion of a free LinkStick to enable internet content as well as free shipping. I have bought Samsung TV’s over the last few years and have not had any significant problems. I am replacing a six year old 50″ Samsung 720p DLP model with this 55″ 1080p LCD. I was not convinced to go with 3D capability or LED technology at this time. This is our primary family room TV which we mainly use for watching sports and movies. We are connected to the local Cox Communications provider with advanced digital and HD programming.
About the TV – Picture Quality: 5 stars This is the most critical component for me and it is absolutely amazing. Guests who come over and see it are blown away. I have had the TV for a few weeks and it has taken some time and experimentation to tweak the settings to finally land on the best possible calibration to obtain the optimal bright, sharp, clear images. Using the optimal settings based on your room size, lighting, and HD content provider literally result in making the images on the screen of this model come alive. I have had no juddering or noise problems as I have read in other reviews and would attribute this to proper calibration. One critical step to maximize picture quality and viewer satisfaction is to turn off the Eco Sensor feature. I could not be more pleased with the high quality of the picture but it took a little time to get the wow factor.
Sound Quality: Although I would characterize the sound of the included built in TV speakers as adequate, I strongly recommend HDMI cabling wherever possible or digital optical cabling the audio through a home theater system. I have a 6.1 surround sound system that provides great performance with crisp clear digital sound.

Shipping/Delivery: All went smoothly coordinating with the local delivery carrier insofar as e-mail and phone communications and setting an appointment; however the actual time of delivery ran about a half hour late from the scheduled window. Other than that, shipping from Amazon to the carrier was timely and the delivery man unboxed, powered on the TV, and allowed me a close inspection for any damage before accepting delivery. I would recommend having a second person to assist with setting up the TV just due to the size and awkwardness of trying to move it around by yourself.
Overall conclusion: I would definitely recommend buying this TV. I could not be happier with the performance of the most critical features for basic functionality, picture quality and sound. The purchase experience through Amazon was smooth as usual and was a great value.”
